Depending on the organic materials used and the production process, organo-mineral fertilizers have different rates of nutrient assimilability. Data collected from scientific studies are summarized in the table.

As can be seen in the table, organo-minerals based on humified peat (characteristic of SCAM production) offer the best utilization coefficients of nutrients by agricultural crops.

Today, SCAM organo-mineral fertilizers can be counted in their own right among the high environmental performance fertilizers as they are able to ensure higher nutrient efficiency of macro- and micro-elements allowing the use of lower doses of fertilizer, with less risk of nutrient losses to the environment and greater savings by the farmer. As a confirmation of its commitment, SCAM has obtained the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), an “international ecological recognition” that allows for the communication of OBJECTIVE, COMPARABLE and CREDIBLE information regarding the environmental impacts related to the entire life cycle of the product, i.e., from the initial production phase to the final phase of use by the plant. The information contained in the EPD and based on the life cycle analysis of the product (for example: greenhouse gas emissions, eutrophication, resource and energy consumption) is verified by independent third parties and accredited by SWEDAC (Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment). Thanks to this recognition SCAM can therefore add to the already recognized improved agronomic performance of organo-mineral fertilizers also a scientifically proven and internationally certified superior environmental performance.
